Do you know what the best two words, three words, or four words to use with your children? The right phrase is so easy and can mean so much to your kids! What's in a word? A lot. What's in a phrase? Even more. What's in a tone of voice? A thousand words. These are the best "short and compelling" phrases you can use with your children: Easy for you, wonderful for your child. Use the best two words of all, "I'm sorry." Use the best three words of all, "I love you." Use the best four words of all, "Please forgive my ______." Helping your child grow up with strong self-esteem is the most important task of parenthood. As a parent, you are the primary influence on how your child feels about herself--her self-esteem. You are a mirror of who she is. And you want your child to feel valuable, to have strong self-esteem. Kids with high self-esteem have an easier time in life. Parents who use kind words and tones of voice impart self-esteem. Parents who say "I'm sorry" also feel better at night! |

Readers Reply: I agree. The best phrase I can use with my kids besides I love you is to tell them I am sorry and ask for their forgiveness. I feel better; they feel better. It is magic. RL, Irving, TX More about singles and single parents.
