Non-Significant Other One of the best ways to network and meet numerous singles is to attend or have a non-significant-other party. What's that? A party where everyone attends with a friend of the opposite-sex--their non-significant other. This is a ploy singles have used for years to rapidly build a group. Where do you find that non-significant other? Look around you. Your non-significant other can be a friend, relative, or co-worker of the opposite sex. Even your ex will work if you have an amicablem non-jealous relationship. The idea is to enter the party together, then go your separate ways. There are several advantages to this type of party for singles. |

You can start with as few as two same-sex single friends and your own non-significant other for a dinner party of six. If everyone comes to the next party with a new non-significant other, the singles group grows to twelve. |

Plan your activity and a place to have your party. When you have a large group involving many
people, you probably want to allow for differences in meeting times. Choose a happy hour
location or a dance club rather than dinner at a restaurant for a large group. Dinner,
unless you gather in the bar area for about 30 minutes, might not jell at the same time.
If the party is small with few singles attending, dinner at a local restaurant works well, as does a home party. Once you have everything in place, call your friends and get the ball rolling. Try it and let SOLO readers hear how this worked for you.
