Singles parties since 1991 

SOLO started life as a singles newspaper in 1991. Dan Owens, the founding editor, was a former Channel 5 photographer and reporter who brought his experience as a reporter and as a businessman to the paper. A quiet person, he remained the guiding force behind SOLO for Singles until his death in 2004.

Singles news is one of fun. SOLO has reported on singles' parties in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex since 1991.

The singles world is fun but it is also new and scary to some. SOLO has made the path through the singles world easier for singles in the DFW area easier since 1991 with a newspaper, then a website, high in content for singles.

When the internet came along in 1996, Dan Owens recognized the immense potential. Once SOLO published its first website in 1996, it grew nationally and internationally.

In fact, the growth of the internet was so great that it was possible to stop publishing a print paper in 1999. But through it all and into the future, SOLO, DFW, and singles parties are forever partnered.
