Personal Matchmaker vs. Computer Matching
A brain is what makes the difference. A good personal matchmaker will have you come in for an interview where you will talk for a while, then fill out a profile. That matchmaker might use computers for matching tangible items like age and height, but he or she will use her mental processes and probably some intuition and experience to do the matching.
Computer matching is just that--a computer does the "matching" based on whatever is programmable. Fortunately for most of us, computers still can't think.
Both have a place in the singles world. However, some internet matching services have become so expensive, they are not really worthwhile.
