about Love & Dating Hi. I met a guy at work over a year ago and we have been e-mailing each other since then; we discuss our days/weekends, make chit chat and sometimes partake in abstract thought as well. We work at a large firm and are in different departments, so we hardly see each other during work. Recently, I have found myself attracted to him and his thoughts; I was wondering if 1) you think he may be interested as well. What do you think? MM |

Pat McChristie Dear MM: I think you can be pretty safe in assuming he is interested in you. It has been my experience that guys rarely continue a dialogue unless there is some interest there. Dating friends: When you date friends and break up, it usually ends the friendship, at least for a couple of years. Yet, the best relationships start as friendships. Most dating couples don't develop friendships first, so you may have a golden relationship opportunity here. You are weighing possible soulmate against a possible future friendship loss. Dating from work is another story. You have to decide if this might impact your job and career. If you think it will, you are the only person who can make that decision. Last, discuss values via email and make certain your values are similar before making any decision. Good luck to you! Pat |
